Miles on the iPhone

Here are some recent photos of our little man! Our little princess has been allowing us to get out of the house more and more and we have had some great days. Thanks Amelia (who was present on the following outings, and graciously asleep in her stroller.)

Eureka!!!

We have a SERIOUSLY noisy sleeper on our hands in Miss Amelia. And she doesn't just squeak like Miles did, this girl makes guttural and screechy sounds that brings "pterodactyl" to mind. As such, when she goes on a noisy streak, I have been waking her up to feed her. But a couple of nights ago, Tim held me back and wouldn't let me feed her until she cried out for food - and it turns out she can do a great stretch of sleep at night. For the last 3 nights, I have fed her at 9 after a bath, she has fallen asleep around 10, and then has woken up around 4 for another feed, and then again between 7 and 8.... Needless to say sleep is becoming much more manageable - except for the fact that she is SERIOUSLY noisy, so now I sleep with ear plugs.

Clever Boy

We were in a bit of a tizzy yesterday morning trying to pack up and drive up to Reno to see Mama who is by herself this week. (It's much harder to get 2 kids out of the house than 1.) Tim was changing Miles out of his PJs and into his driving clothes and Miles wasn't really helping. The following exchange took place.

Tim: "Miles! You're really starting to push my buttons."

Miles: "Beep"

Playing together

Miles loves his sister and has truly adopted her as his family. If Amelia is taking a nap when Miles gets home, he walks through the door and wonders where she is "where'd Mila go?". He also loves playing with her, and likely it will only get better as she begins to play back.

The birthday continues

On Monday, we celebrated (again) Miles' birthday at Mama Sue's daycare. There were 2 other March boys (Miles and Enzo turned 2 and Brandon turned 1) so we had a joint birthday party. Everyone sang to all of the kids, and Miles loved the attention. Though he never fully blew out the second candle on his cupcake (see the video), I think he understood the attention and loved the event.

(Miles and the ladies!)

Getting lighter?

Given, this photo is a little over-exposed, but we've been noticing that Amelia's hair is getting lighter and lighter (not to mention a bit thinner). Though she may never be the shock of blond that Miles is, her hair is now a gorgeous honey brown that I would kill for.

6 weeks!

We've been getting into a groove with our sweet girl, and as such, we've had some time to pull out the camera. Amelia is growing very well and we are making up for a previous lack of photo sessions with our second. Here are a few of the most recent event.

Amelia is actually a pretty easy little lady. Though she isn't sleeping through the night yet, she is very portable and is pretty predictable. She tends to sleep very well in the mornings and early afternoon. At about 4, she wakes up and fusses until bed which is between 8 and 9. She gets several hours of sleep per day, and does well at night, but still needs to feed 3 times a night. We're experimenting with trying to find a good routine between which feeds I take and which Tim gives her a bottle for, but we haven't found the perfect solution yet. Oh well, there's still time to keep trying!!

Plus, the height of a newborn's fussy period is 6 weeks and then declines for the next 6 weeks. It's nice to know that any fussiness we do have is only going to get easier.
