Morning Sickness... Feeling alright - hey hey

Mom once terrified me that Morning Sickness is hereditary and her words were "So you're screwed" but so far so good. At our first doctor visit (at 6 weeks & 4 days), the midwife asked how I was feeling and I gleefully reported that there hadn't been any morning sickness. She said "great, but it usually starts around 7 weeks." She also went on that she wouldn't speak to me about it because she thinks sometimes it can be mental.

I am pleased to announce that at 8 weeks & 2 days I have been feeling pretty good. There are moments when I will hit a gag-reflex, but no real nausea. If I start feeling a little wonky, I will tell myself it's mental and I can usually get on track.

Ohh... and for Tim's last post, there is no way that my folks DON'T know. It seems we have Monday on the mind and he/she joins us in conversations.

Love you, Monday.

Phaaahew!?!?

Well as much as we displike keeping secrets, especially one so worth sharing, we were able to make it through the weekend with the GrandChicks without spilling the beans about little Monday. I do wonder, however, if they are on to us. Perhaps a bit paranoid, but I can't help but believe the GrandChicks are wise to the news. Lina did her best to refuse wine with dinner or the cocktail with cocktail hour....something we rarely refuse. We tried to act "normal" but found ourselves on the subject of grandchildren a lot this trip. All conversations were kept to the hypothetic; going so far as discussing vacations with grandparents some 6years in the future. A few times we even had Howard referring to the "hypothetical" grandchild as"Little Timmy Jr."

The more I think about it...the more I'm convinced they are on to us. We'll have to do something drastic and unexpected to throw them off the trail.

Boy or Girl?

So we've named the little guy....I mean girl....I mean....I guess we need to wait a bit for the final verdict. But that doesn't stop Lina and I from referring to him....or her....as a he or she. Not only have we given Monday a sex when speaking of him/her, we change it up. Sometimes Monday is a "he" and others Monday is a "she". Most often however, Lina refers to Monday as a "he". I go the other way with a "she". It gets interesting when we're both talking about Monday. Lina would say, for instance, "Come talk to Monday and tell him about your day." and I respond with "Tell her Daddy will be right there." No pressure Monday...be what you will be. Mom and Dad will adjust accordingly.

Short Fuse

I can't tell if I am all hopped up on hormones or if an agency we are working with is literally trying my patience so that I "off" myself. Man, I want to scream (and have) at the silly twits that I am paying boatloads of money to that don't know how to proof read. I just want to punch someone!!!!

That is until Tim just said to me "think about Monday" and my first reaction was "What's happening on Monday?" and my second was a complete exhale. I think that it is safe to say, that Monday gives me peace. And what a blessing that is.

Monday Time for Tim

Last night Tim spend some "Monday Time" before bed. It was an incredibly sweet moment as Tim lay over my stomach and told Monday all about his day as he rubbed my belly. It was the first moment that I actually felt pregnant and that our lives are about to change, AND that it is all going to be fabulous. Not surprisingly, I slept the best I have in weeks last night.... which still doesn't mean that I am 100% focused at my job, or that all the anxiety is gone, but it is really nice to get a good rest. I just adore Monday's dad and can't wait for the months ahead of more Monday Time for Tim... it certainly is my favorite time of day now.

I hate the secrecy

So I am emotionally overwhelmed by the prospect of being pregnant: elated one moment, scared the next, and always terrified I am not taking care of Monday well enough. And to top it off, I have to keep it a secret for a while longer?

We believe in not sharing until we are through the first trimester, but I do not generally like not talking to my family and friends about it. Just this week, Pito asked me "So what's new?" and the only thing new (AND HUGE!!) in my life, we're not sharing until we are farther along.

That's part of why we're keeping this. If everything goes well, we'll publish this out to all of them, and they can retroactively be there along the way with us. Man do I spend a lot of time hoping & praying that I get to publish this blog.

I can't believe I am saying this on a Friday, but Monday, can you hurry up and get here soon??

Can't sleep

Why is it that I have forgotten how to sleep? Is it because I have to use the facilities every 2 - 4 hours. No joke, I now pee at least 3 times a night and I am not happy about it. Well, for whatever reason, I am up and down all night, and then awake at about 6:30 every morning. You'd think with how exhausted I am that I could partake in my favor tie pastime (sleeping)... but not so much these days.

The worst of it is that I spend my day being a complete zombie. I can't focus on work, I forget things all the time, I get super cranky on poor Tim... I am a total gem these days... but the boobs are great!

6 weeks & 4 days

So I guess it is official. We're pregnant! We haven't told anyone yet, and will only send out this url when things get farther along, but we went to the doctor today for the "Confirm Pregnancy" visit... and it was confirmed. We were also given a due date for March 10, so set your calendars all you people who won't get a chance to read this!

We literally just started talking about starting to try in June. Guess what? It worked. So here we are with a little under 9 months to get used to the notion that we are no longer 2, we're going to be 3.

So why "Monday"? We took our first home pregnancy test last Monday (7/9) to find out we were pregnant. Of course we didn't just take 1 test, we took all 3 that came in the box... what else were we going to do with them, right? Long & the short of it, I said to Tim, what shall we call it prenatally? He basically said "What about Monday? This shouldn't be something that we worry about." I thought it was a great idea. So there we have it. Our little family has just gone from Tim & Lina, to Tim, Lina & Monday. I love Monday.
