First Ouchy

Miles had an unexpected date with gravel and gravity. Miles was playing in the train facade at the neighborhood playground. He was doing great transitioning from one bench to the other, when Lina and I took our eyes off him for a second to point out a passing doggy. When we looked back Miles as was on his belly. We picked him up to find him with a mouth full of sand (we are still unsure where it ALL came from) and an "ouchy" on his head. As tough as Reeth and Chickerings are, Miles was unable to hold back his tears. Though he did fight through the pain and shock to settle down a few moments after we scooped him up. I think he was more upset at the sand and missing the doggy than bumping his head.

As a family friend, Dick Livermore, says "Dirt hurt." Of all the kinds of hurts a child can experience, this is the best kind, because it the kind that goes away.

Miles is all healed up and ready for his BIG BOY birthday this Friday and the Saturday celebration to follow.
