Weekend Recap

While we didn't particularly whoop it up on this cold and foggy weekend, we did introduce Miles to a number of new things - some of which he LOVED, others he is biding his time before he makes a decision.

On Saturday morning, we took Caltrain down to the San Carlos Art and Wine festival. Miles loved the train ride down and we had a nice time strolling around through the town, and climbing up and down on the curbs. The real excitement came with the San Carlos Fire and Police departments. They showed up in wonderful form allowing the kids to sit in the fire truck and on their police motorcycle. They even branded him with their temporary tatoo.

As mentioned above, Miles LOVED the train. What an easy way to entertain a child. The train was about 15 minutes each way, and nice to not have to deal with traffic and parking!

On Sunday morning, we went to Half Moon Bay for breakfast, just to do something different. Breakfast was great - turns out Miles is nuts for honey wheat pancakes. We then drove up the coast a bit to a cute little fishing community. While we didn't buy any of the fresh cod that was being sold directly off of the fishing boats, Miles did enjoy pointing out the boats and watching the seals.

But it was COLD... so we headed out. On the way back down highway 1, Tim noticed a sign for the Sea Horse Ranch, and about 20 saddled horses - so we pulled over. Miles got the chance to sit on top of his very own horse. While he didn't love the experience - horses are big animals, unless, of course, you are 34 inches tall at which point they are HUGE - he did take it in with a cautious level of curiosity.

The funny part was the arrival home. Uncle Kevin and Aunt Jeannie handed down a horse head on a stick, which Miles has taken a new found liking to...
